Governance & Poverty Reduction
Our Reason for Action
At the root of poverty is bad governance. Good governance guarantees
people empowerment and reduces poverty levels. It ensures social service
delivery, security of lives and properties, provision of development
infrastructure, justice and equity, rule of law, participation, responsiveness,
accountability and transparency. Bad governance is majorly responsible
for high incidences of poverty. Therefore, a very key area of Global
Relief poverty reduction work is the promotion of good governance practices
and the development of leadership skills.
